Leading this project while at Gradient, I was responsible for creating a looping 3D motion graphic with the ability to change color on a switchboard. This graphic would accompany Esteban Cortázar’s set at Art Basel Miami 2022. This meant each color transition had to be separately exported as a .mov file to allow the video to loop on a chosen color. Esteban also had the ability to trigger an eclipse event, with all colors transitioning for the most impact. A lot of thought had to be put into the transitioning and clipping of each triggered video. I had a lot of creative freedom with this project and really got to experiment with Blender. Using water simulations and forground and background objects in Blender allowed me to create png sequences that could be added to after effects where I minpulated the lighting, backgroaund loops, and moon texture.
